This is the place where we are have documented the road we have walked in order to adopt our four children from Brazil and the road we are now on as a family. We are keenly aware that adopting is not just a process we've chosen to go through, but part of God's plan for us and for our children. May He be glorified through the process and through our family!

Safe and Sound

We´ve arrived all safe and sound in Rio!  Our flight left over an hour late, but we made up some good time in the air.  The Moreiras (Ester and Leonel) picked us up at the airport and somehow we fit all of our suitcases in their tiny tiny tiny car and brought them home to their downtown condo/apartment.  It´s a lovely home and they are so hospitable!  They stopped for pizza and fed us a late dinner at midnight.  Yum!  They are sweet as can be.

We watched 3 movies on the flight and got fed 2 meals on the plane.  In between, we did some reflecting on all the "lasts" we´re experiencing in this phase of our life and marriage... and all the wonderful "firsts" that are to come.  It´s hard to even imagine what the world will look like in just over 2 days, but it´s good to be at the center of God´s plan like this.

We took a bunch of photos and videos at JFK and on the plane to show the kids.  I imagine they´ve never been on a plane before and we think it will help to show them what it´s like.  I halfway wish there was a video showing us what to expect on Wednesday and beyond!

Tomorrow Leonel and Ester are taking us to some Neimeyer buildings that James wants to see and showing us around town.  It´s a holiday, so they are off work.  Perfect!  I also envision a good massage in our future.  Last chance for serious, quiet, prolonged relaxation for a while, I predict.

Wow, Brazil is such a beautiful country! I can't wait to hear about your first meeting with your children . I'm "all choked up" just thinking about it.
