It was a beautiful Saturday and our friend Simone picked us up at Betania and took us to see some Curitiba sights. We went to the Mercado Municipal, had some Pasteis for lunch there, then went to the Opera de Arame (a beautiful semi-outside theater) and an open-air concert venue next door. She also took us to the beautiful Parque Barigui for a little stroll. We even saw one of Curitiba's famous (semi-aquatic rodents of unusual size) Capybaras. On the way back from the park, the kids recognized where they were and directed Simone to their school, Escola Municipal Walter Hoerner! Since it was the weekend, the building was all locked up, but it was nice to see where they went to school.
