This is the place where we are have documented the road we have walked in order to adopt our four children from Brazil and the road we are now on as a family. We are keenly aware that adopting is not just a process we've chosen to go through, but part of God's plan for us and for our children. May He be glorified through the process and through our family!

AWAA Visit

This weekend we took a wonderful trip to Washington DC together.  James earned a free night's stay at a Hyatt hotel because of all his travels for work, so we booked a night at thePark Hyatt, DC and packed our bags for an adventure together.  It turns out that our weekend away coincided with a sort of anniversary--exactly 10 years ago, our love story began... in Washington DC.  Kim went along with James, his family and and his brother's boy scout troop to our nation's capital.  We looked at museums and began a relationship that continues to bring us joy and adventure every day.

This time around, we went to museums, monuments, memorials, and visited with some old Trinity friends, the Shumans.  We also took some time to visit America World's main office in McLean, VA.  We met with the Latin America Program Coordinator and had a wonderful talk that confirmed for us that we are in good hands.  We didn't learn any new information about the status of our adoption, but we were encouraged by the loving spirit of the AWAA staff, and the passion with which they are working on behalf of our family and many others.

More to come about the specifics of our conversation.
