This is the place where we are have documented the road we have walked in order to adopt our four children from Brazil and the road we are now on as a family. We are keenly aware that adopting is not just a process we've chosen to go through, but part of God's plan for us and for our children. May He be glorified through the process and through our family!

This day in History

How quickly a year passes.  It was a year ago today that we submitted the official petition to adopt our children.  We did not know then that we'd wait another 8 months before traveling to meet our children, but you know, we've forgotten all about those 8 painful months.  We may never know what they were for and why we had to endure them, but now there's nothing we'd change about our life and our family.

Here's the email we sent with the petition to our family coordinators at AWAA and LIMIAR:

Hi family coordinators,

Well, we've talked with both of you, two social workers, our pastor, three adoptive families, one mother of 6, all of our parents, our closest friends and the God who put us in this moment.  Our friend/former pastor summed up everything we've heard over the last few weeks with this sentence:

HOLY SMOKES!!!!  I am so happy for you guys!  What a big step, but if anyone can do it, you two can in the grace of Christ.  We will keep praying.

So, with that, here is our petition.

Eight months! That means the children were premies, doesn't it??

I think I remember them being overdue.
